Anne Rearick
Past exhibition
Overview
Anne Rearick was born in Idaho in 1960. Her humanist vision is both documentary and highly personal. Working slowly, she often photographs over several years, allowing her to deepen her relationships with people and places over time.
For her third exhibition at the gallery, Anne Rearick gathers a body of images she has captured of rural communities across the world, from the Perche to the Basque country and Kazakhstan.
"I think there is an intelligence, an essential understanding of life and death that we are removed from in the city". Expressing the inhabitants' profound relationship with the earth, Anne Rearick writes this otherworldly utopia with poetry and a certain simplicity.
