The Gallery and Publishing House “ Clémentine de la Féronnière”, were launched in May 2011 as a pop-up exhibition of prints by Lisette Model inside the Louvre Museum - under the Ian Minh Pei Glass Pyramid - in partnership with the Parisian Gallery Baudouin Lebon. Following this event, in November 2011 and in partnership with the Musée du Quai Branly, an exhibition of Sudanese photography by Claude Iverné, Rashid Mahdi and the Elnour Photographers was organized in the 6th district of Paris (12 rue Guénégaud). Then a yearly exhibition was inaugurated - always linked to a book publication – to take place once a year during the fall and at the current gallery location: 51 rue Saint-Louis en L'île, Paris, France. We have exhibited – inter alia - Munem Wasif, Baudouin, Pierre-Elie de Pibrac. A wide range of photographers coming from very different backgrounds and cultures yet with a very strong and consistent body of work. What distinguishes us from other galleries is our capacity to guide in the best possible manner the photographers with the production of their work, since we offer the simultaneous presentation in exhibition and book form. In 2015, we have started developing our activities in the international market both by taking part in festivals and fairs abroad but also presenting international photographers in house. Our books are distributed by Pollen-Littéral-Diffusion.
Clémentine de la Féronnière
After four years of studying management at the University of Paris IX Dauphine followed by a specialization in publishing, Clémentine de la Féronnière discovers photography while working on the 3P Bourse (3P : Photographers for a Photographic Project) which in 2004 gathered 350 of the greatest names in contemporary photography. From 2004 to 2010, Clémentine has worked as a fine-art book publisher in Paris and Berlin, on monographs but also on catalogues co edited with public institutions. At the end of 2011 she sets her own publishing house and gallery with the support of private collaborators.
Having trained at the Parsons School of Design, Nelly Riedel worked as Art Director at Assouline Paris and New York from 2000 till 2004. An independent graphic designer based in Paris, she works on over thirty art books a year on behalf of National Museums and private publishers. For the Publishing house Clémentine de la Féronnière, Nelly has produced most of the books and communication material, in a spirit of coherence and collaboration.
The Gallery would like to thank particularly La Maison de Champagne Bruno Paillard for they faithful support, and the partner institutions : the musée du Quai Branly, the Louvre and the Gallery Baudoin Lebon. And finally we would like to thank Agence VU' and Elnour.
